Twenty-five years ago, God placed a vision on the hearts of over 40 disciples across Canada: to plant a church in Edmonton inspired by Isaiah 62:1. "For Zion's sake, I will not keep silent, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not keep still, until her righteousness shines like a bright light, her salvation like a blazing torch."
Today, that vision burns brighter than ever.
Awaken 2026 is more than an anniversary. It's a celebration of God's faithfulness and a call to move forward together as a Spirit-filled church rooted in five core pillars: Mission, Service, Generosity, Love, and Unity. We envision a church fully alive in faith, joyful in worship, generous in spirit, and actively engaged in God's work, where every disciple lives to honor God and shine His light beyond Sunday gatherings.
We're excited to welcome our keynote speakers, Harliem and Vania Salim from the Jakarta Church of Christ, who will be speaking at the Friday Workshop and share a special message during our 25th Anniversary Celebration Sunday Service.
Keynote Speakers: Harliem and Vania Salim
Married for 33 years, Harliem and Vania are parents, grandparents, and faithful ministry leaders who have served God for more than three decades. After becoming Christians in Chicago in the early 1990s, they returned to Indonesia in 1994 to serve in the full-time ministry.
Since 1995, they have dedicated their life to ministry work, contributing to the growth and development of churches across Indonesia and Southeast Asia. God raised them to lead Indonesia at the end of 1996 until they resigned from their leading position last year and shifted their role to developing leaders, strengthening churches, and training future youth leaders.
They have been married for 33 years and played a key leadership role in building and strengthening church communities nationwide, helping expand the ministry into dozens of churches and thousands of members across the SEA region.
